Defining Motivation - How do you define motivation? Most dictionaries define motivation as taking action or moving. Motivation to most people is the ability to go beyond self and push yourself to accomplish certain goals and desires. There must be a driving force that initiates certain behaviors when you define motivation. Motivation takes an inner resolve to make a change or to get something done in order to achieve it.
There are different types of motivation that would define the term in a broader context. A few that can be mentioned are self-motivation, achievement motivation, and attitude motivation.
Self-motivation is what most people use to define motivation at its highest peak of accomplishments. If you are able to motivate yourself and reach your goals, you would have conquered the ability to be disciplined and will accomplish anything you put your mind to.
The key to becoming self-motivated is persistence. Persistence is the ability to stay focused despite any challenges. It requires an inner resolve to step outside of self and find something from deep within that you may not have known was even there.
Motivation is very important to all decisions that you have to make. Without the ability to stay motivated and take the necessary, you will not accomplish your goals. Your life will be an endless cycle of going around in circles.

What is motivation to you? In reality, motivation is an inner process that helps you to move toward your goal in definite motion, with purpose and vision. Drive and determination are two qualities necessary to experience real motivation.
Some people allow different things to motivate them. It could be your job, your marriage, your family, your income or the possibility of wealth. What is motivation to you?
If you can find out what is motivating to you, then you can tap into your true potential and hone in on exactly what it takes to succeed. One way to become motivated is to create a vision that is realistic and to focus on achieving it with an inner desire that outweighs any challenges.
Since motivation is parallel to the word, “move,” lack of motivation is when your life is at a standstill. This equates to fear of failure and this is what keeps people who lack motivation essentially stuck in the same pattern every day of their lives.
You can tell a motivated person when you see one. They have that sparkle in their eye and are always looking for new challenges and ways to grow. Growth is synonymous with motivation and the ability to stay focused even when the going gets tough.
